All Wisconsinites enrolled in BadgerCare Plus or Medicaid will need to renew their coverage between June 2023 and May 2024. If you're currently enrolled in BadgerCare Plus or Medicaid, you will given a date when you need to renew. 

What can I do right now to prepare for my renewal?

Be sure your address and phone number are up to date. You can also add an email address. 

• Update your information through your ACCESS account. To log in or to set up an account go to: access.wi.gov or access.wi.gov/es (Spanish).
• Use the MyACCESS smartphone app to update your address or phone number. You can download the free app from the App Store or Google Play.
• You can call your County Consortium. Call volumes will be high, and the hold time will be long.
• If you live in Dane, Columbia or Sauk County, you should call the Capitol Consortium at 1 (888) 794-5556.
• If you live in Grant, Iowa, Lafayette or Jefferson County, you should call the Southern Consortium at 1 (888) 794-5780.
  

Watch your mailbox.

BadgerCare will be sending you letters to the mailing address you last gave them:

• In mid-March or early April 2023, you will get a letter telling you when your renewal is due. The first renewals aren't due until the end of June 2023.
• You will get a renewal packet in the mail 45 days before your renewal is due. You should not renew your coverage until you get your renewal packet.
• If you want to see copies of what you were sent in the mail, go to your ACCESS account by logging into access.wi.gov.
  

Use your coverage! 

If you need to see your health care provider, mental health provider or you're due for a vaccine or medication refill, use your benefits. Don't delay care if you need it. Learn more about what's covered.

How will I be notified of my renewal date?

You will receive a packet in the mail. The packet will be sent to the most recent address that the Wisconsin Department of Health Services has on file for you. The best action you can take is to update your phone number, email address, and mailing address on access.wi.gov or on the MyAccess smartphone app. You can also check this information anytime by accessing your access.wi.gov account.

I know that I'm not eligible for coverage anymore. Wouldn't it be easier just to do my renewal now? 

No. The phone lines will be busy, and you may risk losing your BadgerCare coverage sooner than necessary. It is OK to wait. In fact, it is recommended that you wait.

What if during the renewal process it is determined that I am not eligible for BadgerCare Plus?
